Find the structure, then remove everything that isn't it

People assume range means dilution — that to do several things is to do none of them well. The opposite has been truer for me. The same instinct runs under all of it: find the structure in a problem, then remove everything that isn’t it.

An enterprise is a system. A market is a system. So is a photograph — light, edited until only the necessary remains. Three materials, one way of seeing.

The discipline isn’t addition. It’s subtraction, held long enough to become clarity.
